My 5-year-old Kindergartener enjoyed reading it. The easy-to-read text boxes and large photos help young readers develop their reading skills. Probably equates to a "reading level" 2 (Pre-K to 1st Grade).
My son loves anything fire fighter related and this is one of them.It was a wonderful Christmas gift!
Grandson, age 3, is very interested in firefighters. This is one of several books he has on the subject, and he asks me to read it to him often. Good graphics, educational information at a level he understands.
The best thing about this firefighting book is that it uses photos intead of illustrations. It also had a female firefighter in it, which piqued my daughter's intrest, not only my son for whom I bought the book. It doesn't go into great detail about anything, but it does point out several responsibilities firefighters have. The kids liked it and so did my firefighter husband.
This series of books are fantastic...the realistic pictures and explanations are geared for the young preschooler, I have purchased all the books and use them often.
My 4 year old loves this book.

My 5 year old son loves this book and we read it nightly as one of his selections as a bedtime story. I do not like the order of the book. It seems that the pages were just put in the book in any order. It is not well organized and should have been arranged in a more organized fashion.
