Ultimate Bible Study Suite; KJV Bible, Hebrew/Greek Strong's Concordance, Easton's & Smith's Dictionaries, Nave's Topical Guide, 1828 DictionaryI just downloaded the "Ultimate Bible Study Suite" today to my Kindle3.Pros: I like it better than a previous KJV Bible with Strong's Numbers because the words are underlined with a link that opens in Strong's Concordance instead of the numbers after each word, which makes it hard to actually read the Bible. I also like having the dictionaries and the Nave's Topical Bible included.Cons: As other people have said, the navigation is not the greatest, but it is workable. First of all, you cannot search the Bible by typing the book, chapter, verse. As a matter of fact, there are no instructions whatsoever in the book to tell you how to search at all.If you're in the Nave's Topical Bible and you "search this book" from the Kindle menu button, the search covers both Bibles and both dictionaries. I searched the word, "Babylon", and came up with 297 pages with 3 locations to a page. The Nave's Bible does have the letters of the alphabet listed with hot links under each letter. If you select one of the letters, it will take you to a page with the list of words beginning with that letter. You can select the word and it will take you to the topic.I also found that when trying to move the cursor down the page to an underlined link in the KJV, it was sluggish moving down the page. Sometimes I had a hard time getting it to move down the page and sometimes it would go past where I wanted it to stop. It was hard seeing where the darn thing was! It would just disappear.All in all, it's the best thing to have, at the moment, for Bible study using the Kindle. Thank God, when a publisher updates a book that you've downloaded, Amazon always lets you know about the update via E-mail. I've had that happen several times already.
At first I was a little skeptical on buying this ebook because of some of the reviews regarding its navigation. I tried the sample but it won't go as far as bringing you to the Greek translation. After thinking about it for some time, I took the risk and bought it.It was amazing! So far, the links are working even the cross references when you go into the dictionaries. This speeds up the studying process exponentially. The price is also very reasonable. (I am using kindle touch by the way.)My mom owns a hardcover of Strong's concordance and Hebrew/Greek dictionary, I must say it's pretty big and heavy. It's hard to pretty much bring it with you when youre going outside. But with this kindle version, you can bring it just about anywhere.I thank God for this resource, it gives me more joy in digging deeper into God's word. I would really recommend it to anyone who owns a kindle and desires to study the Bible in a deeper level.
There are two main starting points for navigation, the bible itself (KJV) and the Table of Contents: -1. The bible itself provides many links to Strongs, Hebrew for the Old Testament, and Greek for the New Testament. From there I see links to the Concordance. -2. From the Table of Contents, you are taken to each of the other, several, books provided, and from there, *many* links back to the bible.If you understand this and are happy with this organization, I think you'll be delighted.If you expect a study bible with links to all the resources from the bible itself you may be terribly disappointed.I expect the Product Description will be updated to better explain navigation, which is so important, so you'll more easily be able to understand whether or not this Kindle book is a good match for what you are looking for.-David Burnet, 30-September-2011
I previously purchased Eastman's Bible Dictionary for Kindle and American Dictionary of The English Language 1828 Noah Webster Dictionary. The Webster was just updated by Kindle. Navigation to specific words with both of those dictionaries is easy by typing in a desired word. The Easton's, Webster's, Smith's, and Nave's in this "Ultimate..." require word searches to begin with the first letter and then clicking word by word until arriving at the desired word. This is slow and cumbersome. On the plus side he KJV link to Strong's and the Strong's Concordance is very good when searching from a KJV Bible verse. There is no link to the dictionaries. The dictionaries are linked to the KJV when a word is typed in showing all the places in the KJV that word appears. "The Ultimate Bible Study Suite..." is a disappointment. I am keeping it for the Strong's Dictionary and Strong's Concordance. I hope some day Kindle will update the dictionaries for easier word search as done recently for my previously purchased Webster's 1828. July 20, 2011
