Great book!

I just cracked open this book five minutes ago. I'm new to the world of SAP and the aggravation the book has spared me has been well worth the price.This should give you a hint that the book is well-organized and easily accessible. A little familiarity with SAP is handy, but I don't think it's necessary.

Over 10 years old. Most of the core information is the same. The responsibilities by chapter are different now.

In some places that the book is advertised it is misleading - touting the book as SAP for dummies when actually it is a book on SAP System Administration only. Although it may adequately cover the System Administration (Basis) aspects the book is not helpful for basic SAP functionality - I had more luck with "Teach Yourself SAP in 24 hours" for general SAP.

I have only just started reading about SAP. However, I was looking for more than just a review of GUI screens and the buttons on them. I was looking for explanations, perhaps a short overview. Many of the screen shots did not exactly match the words associated with them. They showed the 'default' SAP screen rather than the parameters and options discussed in the text. There were several mistakes on the screens. Buy another SAP BASIS or SAP Administration book other than this one. It is far overpriced in relation to its content. Others are available at half the price of this used book.

I didn't think it was possible to have a Dummies book for SAP, but it seems that Joey and Jim did it. As an experienced basis admin I read with skepticism, but I truly believe this is a valuable asset for any technical resource looking to venture into the vast world of SAP. Joey provides comical yet expert commentary that would allow anyone new to this difficult landscape to get a leg up. Thanks for the enjoyable and educational read. When are you coming out with SAP for Advanced Dummies?

When I was first thrust into the arena as a BASIS administrator, the dirth of materials showing how to do even the most basic of tasks, made this a daunting task. This book would have made my job much easier a year ago. For the beginning administrator or consultant, this book would be an excellent addition to ones SAP R/3 library (If only for the chuckles you would get for having it on the shelf)

Interesting, informative and well worth the price.

The chapter goes on to explain How To Start The Grill, How To Control The Temperature and includes Techniques on Grilling, Smoking, Roasting, and Baking.Recipe categories include:Wild GameBeefPorkPoultrySeafoodSidesBreads & DessertsEach of the recipes includes prep time, cook time, servings, type of heat (direct/indirect), and cooking surface required, all right at the top of the page. Next comes a brief description followed by the ingredients and instructions.Many of the recipes also included tip, some offering substitution suggestions others are preparation tips. For the most part, the ingredients are easily sourced except for a few exceptions like the recipes found in the Wild Game chapter. But of course, you wouldn’t be in this chapter if you didn’t already have the wild game meat.Unique And InformativeLike the Kamado Grill itself, These recipes are quite unique. Not simply happy with remaking standard recipe for the Kamado Grill, the author has instead offered the unique creations he makes for his personal chef client.While I was somewhat disappointed that only about a quarter of the recipes included a photo, the pictures included were spectacular. I liked this book and give it a 4 mainly because it has a very good front section on understanding and using the Kamado grill. The Kamado grill is capable of much more than grilling. I have a Kamado junior grill and after I bought it, found out I could bake on it. Had I known that before I bought it, I'd have got the larger version! So I think that a cookbook like this would be great for potential kamado owners to read before they buy their grills. I also really like some of the relish recipes in the cookbook. The recipes are well written with full color, gorgeous photography. Many of the recipes have international inspiration, with a lot of Asian based ones. I do find that the recipes often have ingredients that are quite expensive or just not available in my small town unless I want to travel into the city. Also, a lot of these recipes rely on grill accessories, which the book does show and explain. I bought a pizza stone for my small grill and it was 5x the cost of a regular oven pizza stone and half the size with no real reason why - so do note that some of the accessories might get pricey too, resulting in some quite expensive food to make. The book does balance this cost factor with lots of recipes for chicken, including wings and thighs.

Owning any of the egg shaped cookers can be intimidating. After putting down a hefty amount of money, because your favorite BBQ chef on TV swears by it, you set it up in your backyard and you start thinking, "Now what?" Unlike gas grills or electric smokers, which take little knowledge (in comparison) you stand befuddled trying to figure out where to begin.This book should be your first step. Open the book and read the first 20 pages. In fact, memorize them, truly understand them. Those 20 pages will teach you everything you need to know. Then dive into the recipes. Start with a basic recipe like a grilled chicken or smashed burger recipe. Eventually, as you grow to love your cooker you will move up to something like the porchetta.This book is so helpful, I think people should read the first 20 pages before they decide to buy their cooker.

The stories that describe the author's interaction with the restaurant owners and some of the history behind each of the restaurants are well written and give some insight into what makes each place special. The accompanying recipes are for dishes that look absolutely delicious. Some of the recipes, I will be able to make. Some of them require special ingredients that you will have to get from the restaurants themselves. The book is gorgeous and a joy to look through.

Great cookbook cannot wait to try some of yummy recipes. Makes me wish I had visited some of the sites listed in the book while I was in Nashville!

Love it and Nashville

The author intertwines stories about each unique restaurant with recipes that make you want to go there...NOW. I will use Ms. Stewart-Howard's book on each of my next trips to Nashville and know that I'm getting "the real deal."

I picked this up at the library and now it's in my Amazon cart. After living in the Nashville area for almost two years, I am amazed at how many restaurants I still need to try. Some are pretty basic, nothing fancy kind of places while others are much more upscale.The recipes look good and I will definitely be making several dishes. Hopefully the recipes will work out, but even if they don't this book is still worth the price of admission. The author's stories are personal, friendly and inviting. They are motivating me to get out and check these restaurants out NOW. My husband is trying to convince me to make reservations as I type this. I have a feeling I'll be sending this to a lot of friends and relatives who don't live across the country. Maybe after reading this, they will be more inclined to visit.

Great book with fabulous recipes that are easy to make. Well written with great history to go with the restaurants.

About the Author

Dong Zhongshu (195–104 B.C.E.) was a native of the kingdom of Guanquan (part of present-day Hebei Province), where at an early age he mastered the Spring and Autumn. A court-appointed scholar of the Gongyang Commentary to the Spring and Autumn, he was known for his interpretations of disasters and anomalies recorded in the text. Sarah A. Queen is professor of history at Connecticut College. She is the author of From Chronicle to Canon: The Hermeneutics of the "Spring and Autumn" According to Tung Chung-shu; the co-translator, with John S. Major, Andrew Seth Meyer, and Harold D. Roth, of The "Huainanzi": A Guide to the Theory and Practice of Government in Early Han China and The Essential "Huainanzi"; and the coeditor, with Michael Puett, of The "Huainanzi" and Textual Production in Early China.John S. Major taught East Asian history at Dartmouth College. Now an independent scholar, he is the author of Heaven and Earth in Early Han Thought: Chapters Three, Four, and Five of the "Huainanzi" and the co-translator, with Queen, Meyer, and Roth, of The "Huainanzi" and The Essential "Huainanzi."
